Manual – Descaling a Delonghi Magnifica

time, hard water minerals can build up in the internal components of the coffee machine,
leading to reduced performance and potentially even damage. Descaler solution helps to
remove these minerals and prolong the life of your machine. In this guide, we will provide step-by-step instructions on how to descale a Delonghi Magnifica S coffee machine.

Instructions for descaling the Delonghi machine

In short, it boils down to these steps:

1) Remove the water tank and take out the filter. Put 100 ml of descaler in the tank and 1 litre of clean water;
2) Press the descale button for 3 seconds, put a large bowl under the steam nozzle and turn the steam button;
3) Once the lights flash again, you can turn the steam button back;
4) Empty the tank and refill it with clean water and turn the steam button again. The machine now flushes and then the descaling of the Delonghi Magnifica is done!

To descale a Delonghi coffee machine or espresso machine, you can use either the Delonghi ecoDecalk mini or the Eccellente Quick Descaler. For both decalcifiers, one bottle should be used per decalcification session.
